Duke of Ed

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (Duke of Ed) is a balanced, non-competitive, internationally recognized program designed to encourage young people to develop positive skills and lifestyle habits.  The program is about personal challenge and development and is adaptable according to each person’s interests and abilities

CSCL’s Involvement:

CSCL supports the Duke of Ed Program because it’s a recognized program for young people to grow, discover, persevere, gain responsibility to themselves and their community and build their overall skills to better equip themselves for life and work.  The Duke of Ed Program creates opportunities for young people to develop skills, get physically active, give service and experience adventure, the award can play a critical role in their development.

CSCL encourages and supports youth and young adults between the ages of 14-24 years of age to challenge themselves in the various areas to obtain their Bronze, Silver and Gold Level Awards.  The areas of focus are:

  • Community Service
  • Skill Building
  • Physical Recreation
  • Adventurous Journey.
